When the user chooses shutdown, it might actually delay the system shutdown until there is nothing more to record on TV, and it's safe to shutdown. And while it is also monitoring the remote control, it reacts on the user pressing the TV/Video button, which switches the source for the TV (either antenna or freevo). But if you get asleep in front of your TV, it won't shutdown automatically (because it doesn't detect if someone is actually doing something or not). It's not yet ready, and depends on (soon-to-be) home-made hardware, but if someone is interested...
