I first used the vesa fbdev mode, and then switched to X first using the
vesa module and after that i used the gatos ati module, but that one was
hacked up further then the original gatos module to support various tv-out
stuff ...

Betreff: [Freevo-users] What the hell I need to do to have TVOUT ???????

Again, I ask the same thing here because I saw similar question on the web
and no one aswered even the auhors :((((

Is it actually possible for ATI card owner to use fbdev with TVOUT ???

The question may look trivial, BUT the problem is that ATI card
automagically switch to TV frequencies when only a TV is plugged on the card
and no vga monitors is plugged. So I can see the bios, lilo boot and the
linux fb consol on my tv without any problem. But when I launch freevo, it
change the resolution and/or frequecies and my TV can't display anything
!!!!

In freevo 1.3.x, it worked very well and since I upgraded to 1.4.1 it does
not work anymore.

I looked a little the source code and the problem seems to came from pygame
display object. It seems to be unable to use the current fbdev mode (the one
used for the console) and open a new screen instead.... To bad because it
make the graphic card lose the TV resolution ! :((((

So Does I need to stay to Freevo 1.3 if I want tvout with fbedev ? Is
there's a way to tell freevo to use the EXACT same resolutions and
frequencies than the console use ?

please help... or at least tell me something ("not possible", "in next
version", or anything else)
