So Freevo is switching to mevas? Does this mean that it will be bound to mplayer from now on (not that I would mind much, except for the DVD-menu stuff from xine )?
No, mevas supports multiple rendering backends and displays, mplayer (bmovl/bmovl2) is just one of them, pygame/SDL another, ivtv, imlib2...
