well, that is a packaging problem (please note, Debian packager)
because i asked Debian to install with apt-get on a brand new install, and it 
has installed twisted-2.5 and freevo 1.7.3

and that explains why Freevo-1.7.4 is working

(not exactly as if i got it all running yet, the tv displays nothing, the 
encoder encodes nothing, the xmltv script is producing rubbish and while 
python will parse my old local_conf.py and run, it won't parse the nice new 
one I edited for the new install)
(please design new emoticon for banging head on brick wall)
