Roy,

I looked at it last night, and it looks great.  Since you're doing this, may I 
suggest you add a note to indicate you can do the same thing using a USB flash 
drive?  I've been doing this for a while for a bedroom Freevo box, and it works 
well.

In my case, in /etc/vfstab I mount /dev/sda1 (root volume) with the noatime 
option to speed things up and minimize writes to the volume.  I also have 
/var/log as a tmpfs (ram-based filesystem) so logging is present, but not 
written to the volume.
