Hi all, I've finally cleared enough room to get my AC3 capable amp and speakers set up in the house :). I've changed my xine config to output ac3 when viewing DVD's and it's all funky, spdif output via optical into the amp and it all works grand.
However music and stereo sound still go to the TV (for normal TV viewing). What I would really like would be able to send the audio to both the telly via HDMI and to the amp via SPDIF. So that I could listen to music with the telly off, but without always needing the amp on to hear anything. Currently to get mplayer to output the sound via my HDMI calbe I use the following options: -ao alsa:device=hw=0.3 I can change this to be: -ao alsa:device=hw=0.1 Which will then output to the amp instead, is there anyway of specifying 2 output devices?? I found this on the alsa wiki: http://alsa.opensrc.org/.asoundrc#Dupe_output_to_multiple_cards about configuring duplicate output to multiple cards.. but it looks seriously scary and I didn't really know where to start Is there an easier way I can do this with some simple parameters to mplayer??
