You should also have a look here: http://wiki.openwrt.org/OpenWrtDocs/Hardware/Asus/WL500GP I needed it to enable the complete RAM... Also you should be aware of the fact that the original firmware uses different variable names in the nvram, so I had some problems with configuring PPPoE with the webif as it did not set any of "idletime", "demand" or "keepalive"...
