Does anybody have any suggestions for removing your information from
reverse look-up directories ?
This came up because I listed an item for sale on Craigslist. Several
replies I received made me think they were actually trying to set up a
robbery by getting my home address. After thinking about it some more,
it occurred to me that if I provided a phone number, they could possibly
use that as well. I discovered there are many on-line services offering
to do this sort of look up, including Google. It appears that each of
the individual look up services provide a way to remove yourself from
their service, but that would do nothing for the other services. So,
you need a way to remove yourself from the databases these services are
purchasing. (In any case, the Google website for name removal does not
work !)
