I have uploaded two screenshots of my desktop to ImageShack. The following link should display the album in which these images are stored. http://img338.imageshack.us/g/phayzdesktopclean.jpg/ If this fails, the following screenshots should (I believe) show you the images themselves. http://img63.imageshack.us/img63/7026/phayzdesktopdirty.jpg http://img338.imageshack.us/img338/1131/phayzdesktopclean.jpg Now here is a brief explanation as to why I like these components - Mouse pointers - they "just look good". :) I don't like the common arrowhead-style mouse pointer, and the Oxygen set is functional but also looks good. My only problem is with the "busy" cursor (which is two balls which rotate around each other) because it's then not clear where the "hot point" of the cursor is located. Background - although I generally prefer dark backgrounds, they get a little too dark sometimes. This background works well for me because a transparent, tinted terminal is still easily read, yet looks sexy! It's also a change for me from my favourite blue. Metacity - I like a Metacity theme which makes it clear which windows are active and inactive. I also like themes with buttons which don't distract your eyes from the titlebar's content. GTK+2 theme - I can't explain exactly why I like this theme. I believe it's a little Mac-ish but that's not why I like it. It seems to make the important elements easy to see, without making the theme itself too "obvious". The panels themselves are dark by default, but no other elements are quite as dark. I do like dark themes but all the ones that I have tried have some problem where an application or two doesn't quite "fit". Icons - Although these have been on my PC for a long time I had never tried them before. I like the simplicity of the icons' design overall but I especially like the MIME types icons. Some of my other icon themes have icons for MIME types which provide a preview of the file's content. The preview is so small though, that I can't easily read the text. I would much prefer a preview of the file's type via a nice icon, and this is what Gion delivers. If this is more information that you were asking for, then I'm sorry for wasting your time. :) May you always be Frugal, Russell Dickenson (AKA phayz) _______________________________________________ Frugalware-devel mailing list [email protected] http://frugalware.org/mailman/listinfo/frugalware-devel
