VMiklos, I did run the command "ssh -vvv ..." but I thought it was I who had to look over the output to see what might be wrong. I will produce the output as soon as I can and put in in the PasteBin. Thanks for your reply and offer of help. For the moment I will leave my password as it is, because I'm sure I know what it is. I'm sorry to take up your time with this. I will try comparing what I see happening on my notebook at work and my desktop PC at home, to see if I can find what might be different.
