Hi Elentir, all, The gcc package build on vegaarm was known to fail due to the 1day time limit of syncpkgcd -- so James asked me to build it on my arm HW, and it was still insanely slow, basically it took 3 and a half days to do so.
Given that gcc is a package we build regularly, this is simply unacceptable. For normal packages, we can play tricks with distcc, but for gcc, this won't work. Which leads to the question: Anything really needs the ada, fortran, java and objc compilers in the arm port? I see you also ported java-gcj-compat to arm -- so I'm not sure if it's really l'art pour l'art or needed by something. Unless I hear objections, I would like to remove these on arm to speed up the gcc build. Thanks, Miklos
