1. I think we have other problems that are far more important than
this. The default editor in base should be something that works good
enough to let you edit some config files. Elvis can do that just fine.
2. I hate all vim style editors anyway so the less space they take the
better. I just install mc as soon as I can and use mcedit.

 In the end I guess either is fine for me but let's not drag this on
too much, it seems silly to me.
