On my laptop, I actually send my outgoing mail from Google's gmail system. I added my truman.edu email ID to my regular gmail account so I can send from my regular address while using Google.
I do it that way because Google mail works whether I am on campus or off. The Truman mail server (correctly) won't relay mail from my "Truman" address when I'm on a non-Truman computer, and I don't want the hassle of connecting to the VPN or tunnelling just to send email.
