I suppose I will chime in with a recruiting notice as well. In case someone has not heard, Google has quite a few openings lately. You can browse job descriptions at http://www.google.com/intl/en/jobs/ but obviously if you are interested in programming or sysadmin, we probably have something fun and interesting for you to do. One distinguishing feature of Google is that we tend to hire for a general role (e.g., "software engineer") rather than for a specific team/product; normally we look for talent first and match up new hires with growing teams second.
Google cares a lot about scalability, many of our systems have an AI/machine learning flavor, and ethical behavior is an important cultural attribute here. If you have questions for a Truman CS grad from 2002 about what it's like to work here, feel free to email me.
