Marshall University Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU)
Computational Science
http://sites.google.com/site/marshallreu

Marshall University will once again be hosting a Research
Experience for Undergraduates (REU) this summer.

Application review will begin March 9 2012, but applications will
be accepted until all 12 positions are filled.

Students will be matched with research mentors from the math,
physics, or chemistry departments.

The mentors will direct the students in carefully selected
problems from the mentors' research interests.

Posters from the research conducted over the summers of 2010 and
2011 can be found on the web site.

Students will also learn about the problems, techniques, and
tools common to all scientific computing.

For more information, see

http://sites.google.com/site/marshallreu

If you know any students who might be interested in this program,
please forward this information on to them and/or forward their
contact information to me.

Please also forward this on to any instructor who may have students
who would be interested in the REU.

The standard requirements for REU participation apply, the most
important of which may be that the applicant must be a U.S. citizen
or permanent resident, and the applicant must be an undergraduate
during the summer -- seniors graduating at the end of the spring
semester are unfortunately not eligible.

Thanks again!

The most exciting phrase to hear in science, the one that heralds
new discoveries, is not "Eureka!" (I found it!) but "That's funny ..."
