Hi Michael, A few comments about your desire for fullscreen vid:
Changing the video res to 800x600 _will_ make the video appear larger without some of the artifacting you'll see with blowing up the actual video. However, a lot of LCD monitors look fuzzy when not displaying at their 'natural' res, which is usually about 1024x768 (15") or 1280x1024 (17"). LCDs are becoming more common, so it's worth considering if it'll be self defeating. Who are your target audience? I would think that 800x600 is a fairly common home-use res. Perhaps you're targeting a business audience, which would suggest higher res, but make sure you're not worrying too much about a small percentage of users. FWIW, you can actually increase the _perceived_ video quality with good sound. If impact is important, make sure your sound is crisp. A lot of game fullscreen vid is actually fairly chunky- it relies on being visually dynamic (with good sound!) for impact. If you do change the res, make sure to change it back before your app quits- it's only polite. > The more I come across projects that require X platform, the more = > annoyed I get that macromedia did not produce director to output to X = > platform like Flash does. In their defence, Director handles so much more varied and external media and can do so many other things that it's pretty much vital to have a copy of both Director platforms to nail down any OS-specific issues. My beef that there wasn't a crossplatform bundle pricing for many years (think it emerged around D8, not sure if it's still around as I'm just an upgrader). HTH.
