Hey James Sorry for the delay in getting back to you.... This discussion is possibly heading down the standards geek path, but hey its flash related and this list has been a bit quiet of late :)

These conditions are contained in comments and are specifically designed to work around IE's broken <object> support. Given that they are (rightly) ignored by all other browsers and they don't break the document structure in any way I can't really see the problem. I'm not doing much Flash these days so maybe I'm not understanding things correctly, but the Flash satay method just seems a little cludgy with the loader movie & all.
