Guys,
Lots of good ideas. I like the trend of less bugs and connection
issues, and more feature requests. There are obviously still some
connection bugs, but its getting more and more solid with each version.
The connection related bugs are always the first priority.
If you get disconnected from the network, the chat window doubles up
the nicks. Don't worry about reproducing it, I've seen it and I'll take
care of it.
If you see a version number, then you're compatible. The higher the
version number, the higher your success rate will be. I think the cut
off for getting that message is around 1.2.3, but in general, if it says
"Unknown" under version you're likely going to run into all the old bugs
from last week.
From a beta perspective, only submit connectivity bugs for very
recent versions, unless its something totally new. Even though I don't
mention it in the release notes, there are a ton of "under-the-hood"
fixes in each version. In fact, when you submit a connection related
bug, it would be great if you could mention the version that the host
you're downloading from is running. Not critical, but it would
definitely help me to resolve it easier.
Soon I'll set it up so that you can't see results from incompatible
versions, but for now its nice to see the people online and their version
nums. Thanks for keeping up with the releases, I know its a pain, but it
allows me to iron out the quirks a lot faster.
Matt definitely found a bug, and I'm checking it out. Has anyone
else had trouble resuming downloads? To they always continue where they
left off?
