Well if people want to use a nickname, and I'm one, I don't have a
problem. I'm not sure why you would consider them covert since the
software is free for all to d/l. Obviously it's well known amongst our
community but if an "outsider" surf's in and they have music to offer,
why not!

Subject: [Furthur] unknown users

Hi everyone,
I don't know if there is a rule or "understanding" about "unknown" users
downloading from furthur. I am not comfortable not having some idea who
is on my machine and if they can't at least identify themselves, even
with a nickname, I deactivate them. I don't think the idea of the
network is covert downloading but let me know what the general
impression about this is because I am operating under the assumption
that everything should be above board and I'm using my real name. Thanks
and Happy New Year!
