The risk that I see for adding "features" to Fusebox is that you will end up with a bloated framework that CAN do all sorts of things you don't use or need in every app. IMHO, Fusebox is aiming for just the right target: do everything that we all need to do, and nothing more. Now, if you want to build a GUI toolset that works with Fusebox, that's great! But there is no need for it to live in the core files. Just like the SES converter is a great tool that a lot of people use, it is not needed by the core, and would just cause unnecessary overhead if it were there and you weren't using it. It is very simple to add this to your app, but it does not belong in the core. Do you see the difference? A better question... I have heard many developers resist adding features to fusebox. You would think standard features like a system menu, a message box, a requestor, a grid container would hold back development. Boy... visual basic and windows did not prove that to be so. It wasn't so on Mac or the Amiga. It doesn't seem to be the case on Linux. Hmmm.... my question. What are we going to do with fusebox? Are we going to target the lowest common denominator and have fusebox be the least it can be? OR Are we going to make fusebox a system with features developers can use... but they don't have to. Ship with features like framemode on/or/off. There has been many fine developments that could be a part of the system without them requiring the developer to use all the features. My suggestion is along with MX... let's make fusebox more robust!!!
