Regarding Adalon's 2.5 beta product (which I would highly recommend over the 2.2 version), I think the wireframe tool is really excellent. Wireframes are not really meant to get down to the level of the form fields. Rather, they help get buy-in from higher-level decision makers, spur thought about what the overall application should do and, incidentally, act as a nifty sales tool! Total time spent on the wireframe tool is typically less than 2 hours.
The 2.5 beta that I demo'd at CFNorth is, I think, an enormous step forward. Earlier versions were good attempts, but Adalon reaches its stride in 2.5. So, where do you get sign off for form fields, etc? At this point, it is done in the prototype. Several of us are trying out ideas of a step between wireframes and prototypes that may be able to hone in on the kind of information you need, John. Things look hopeful. Anyway, hope that helps. WireFrame Viewer/Editor 3.999beta + Adalon 2.2 Both of these tools don't display or ask for form input fields. How can I create or get a sign off for a prototype without this critical information???? Maybe I am just blind or don't see it right but this information seems very critical. Adalon in theory is a very good tool. But it reminds me a typical open source application/project. Selon moi(According to me), this is what goes through an open source developers mind when coming up with an idea for a project "Let's not consider the UI and just steel it from a company we think we can beat and advertise our product as ten times better even though the major issue with all tools is the UI." I wonder if they used prototyping techniques to design there prototyping tool :-). "Eat your own dog food" One of my favorite quotes. I just had to open one to many windows a la Rational Rows. God I hate Rationale. You figure all those great Software Engineers under one roof can come up with something that makes sense. Anyways, I just wanted to rant and rave. There is a lot of creative criticism in there behind all the negativity I promise :-). Anyone have any solutions for me? ==^================================================================ This email was sent to: [email protected] EASY UNSUBSCRIBE click here: http://topica.com/u/?bUrFMa.bV0Kx9 Or send an email to: [EMAIL PROTECTED] T O P I C A -- Register now to manage your mail! http://www.topica.com/partner/tag02/register ==^================================================================
