I think I can step here in.... All these *free* mailings services are great but nothing is free! I'm subscribed to the PHP group on Yahoo groups and sometimes over 75% of the message is advertising sometimes with GIFs, really not what I want in my mailbox. Plus, we've all experienced being unsubscribed or the customary randomn 'lag' Topica has.
As far as I am aware ErikV is looking at getting us a proper mailing list host so we can expect some quality of service. I have already negotiated a copy of Fusetalk from e-zonemedia along with the email list sync module so messages sent to email lists appear in the forums as well as NNTP (we we need it). This needs hosting obviously and I believe the present hosting by FatCity is still being done as a 'favour' ( could be wrong though) - but hopefully we'll see some movement on this shortly...once this is inplace we will then implement Fusetalk on Fusebox.org but potentially we will hold off until the site has gone through a redesign. Please, have patience - we're busy on the Steering committee getting stuff sorted.....it will be addressed, John. > -----Original Message----- > From: Steven Ringo [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] > Sent: 28 May 2002 22:27 > To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > Subject: Moving to a forum was RE: circuit independance idea > > > Hi, > > > I think in general these should be moved to a forum rather than an > email application.
