I've found the Scheduler to be one very persnickity hassle. Here is the generic answer, IMHO, to all Scheduler problems:
Assuming you are in a Windows environment running IIS - If not, it may still apply... You've gotta be 100% sure your FB app that is scheduled is available to the anonymous account IIS uses (IUSR_xyz). In IIS, make sure "Allow Anonymous Access" is checked, and that the other security options are not checked. Within the scheduled task, you -can- pass username/password credentials, but I never got those to work, even when following the instructions that indicate they are for "Basic" authentication. Well, it's basic, all right. It doesn't work. Oh, and hoping you can get the Scheduler to tunnel down to a subdirectory within your application? Forget it! (IMHO, again) I've found the only sure-fire way to get Scheduler tasks to run is to isolate them into a special directory reserved for such a purpose. You could call it somethign unique like "scheduled_tasks", or maybe "ishkabibble" if that sounds more impressive. And... since this directory is supposed to be for scheduled tasks only, don't put in any components you don't want indexed/spidered by such items. More IMHO advice. Moral of the story?
