I grasp Mike Gursteins point re 5-10% calling on entitlements. My other
point was that these were 'real', not just 'fiat' or conceptual. Freedoms
(rights?) balanced with responsibilities to others is necessary for social
cohesion, and I think most agree with this.
I had no real argument for or against the pet issue, but was indicating
that it is a luxury rather than necessity. My dog eats pretty well.
BTW, I thought my short post re petfood appeared twice. Maybe my server is
flaky.
I'll be off-line Oct 22 till Nov 6. & will be spending some days in Toronto
and Ottawa.
