As I recall from the article in The Economist a few years ago (when the decision was made) it's about a 50/50 split between windpower and the assumption that fuel and solar cell technology will be advanced enough to take over the rest.  But I didn't save the article, alas-perhaps somebody on the list has paid for access to the archives of that magazine?

Thanks Lawry,

By the way, I heard Germany just deactivated or dismantled
the first of 19 nuclear power plants that they intend to retire.
Any idea what their alternative source will be?

I have looked at Bearden's site and find his material no clearer than it was a couple of decades ago.

His claim to extract energy from space (and, by the way, anti-gravity) seems highly unlikely. His site has a picture of some sort of device, so if he is producing net energy from vacuums, and demonstrating anti-gravity, it would be pretty easy to prove. I don't think he has done that, or come even close.

Perhaps some may remember my mention of Tesla's experiments with over-unity devices. We recently retrieved our files and revisited the website of Dr. Tom Bearden,

                                   http://www.cheniere.org

who, along with four others got a patent on their Motionless Electromagnetic Generator, U.S. 6362718, Mar.26, 2002.
It was apparently replicated by Jean Louis Naudin in France.

If you keep exploring the various connections, you will get the technical papers, the anticipated aspects of future use, with lots of scalar wave weaponry speculation, medical use, application in what is called psychoenergetics (mind control), and plenty of belief that Russia and China have fairly advanced programmes, not to mention weapons, harnessing scalar waves. You will also find the expected books for sale, the donations page, etc.. Be patient, it gets interesting.

Perhaps those amongst you with the technical expertise will enjoy tearing this one apart, or perhaps find something of interest--not the least of which could be that "great new product" to save the world.
