Hi all,

Got a big problem I was looking for some input on.

Today I did an upgrade to FP3 from FP2. I ran the pre-upgrade verifier
and it didn't report any issues, ran the update (without adding any new
compnents) but the upgrade fell over when starting to copy the Firewall
files because there wasn't enough disk space (the SVN upgraded without
incident). Freed up some space and ran the upgrade again, went though
without problem. I then ran the post-upgrade verifier which complaned
about not being able to read the target file. The file turned out to be
0 bytes, but there was a backup copy made (presumably by the upgrade)
which I renamed and the verifier ran though successfully. When
everything came back up though I cant login to any of the Firewall GUI's
(it's a Windows 2000 server) and no traffic is crossing the firewall.

My support company suggested I uninstall the FP3 files, but the
installer for the Firewall portion appears to be corrupt and so this is
not possible. I noticed event log error for the watchdog component of
FWM.EXE (everytime you try and login to a GUI) but I have tried
replacing FWM.EXE from a known working FP3 install and this hasn't made
any difference (FWM.EXE is also shown as terminated when running
fwpd_admin list at a command prompt). The watchdog process is
terminating with an exception but unfortunately I don't have the exact
error on me (didn't find any matches in google or checkpoints site
though).

I am planning to try upgrading to FP3 hot fix1 tomorrow morning (at the
support companys suggestion because TWM.EXE will be replaced/upgraded)
but if this doesn't work I don't see any option but to backup the files,
run CPClean (since I cant uninstall) do a fresh install of FP3 from the
CD and then try and restore the configuration files (I have an article
on this proceedure but I'm really not looking forward to it)

Any input would be appreciated
