Hello, we are using the Checkpoint VPN-1 SecuRemote client Version 4.1 SP-5 3DES Build Number 4200, and we are seeing performance problems accessing our internal network from our remote sites which are connecting via a high latency satellite Internet connection. Is there any way on the VPN-1 client side (Windows 2000) to increase the timeout period, thus minimizing the effect that this latency might have on our VPN connections?
An example of the problem is described below: If, from a client DOS prompt I try to 'ping www.internic.net', I see: Request timed out. Request timed out. Request timed out. Reply from 192.0.34.161: bytes=32 time=941ms TTL=43 If, however, I try to 'ping www.internic.net -w 5000', thus setting a 5000 ms wait for each ping reply, I see: Reply from 192.0.34.161: bytes=32 time=911ms TTL=43 Reply from 192.0.34.161: bytes=32 time=1001ms TTL=43 Reply from 192.0.34.161: bytes=32 time=1853ms TTL=43 Reply from 192.0.34.161: bytes=32 time=1082ms TTL=43 Can someone suggest any means of increasing the timeout period?
