I had the same problem with the R54 CDROM when trying to install on a DELL 1750 w/PERC 
RAID controller:

1. You cannot add ANY drivers to the existing installation of SPLAT, at least during 
the boot process.
2. I called tech support, and they have recompiled the R54 version to include the 
MEGARAID driver support that PERC uses. The link is here:
ftp://ftp.ts.checkpoint.com/download/1750/singlecd_B540000158.iso

If the link doesn't work, call tech support for the updated one.
