I am running Check Point NG FP3 on Red Hat 7.3. I began to notice the
following message:

fwlddist_adjust_buf: record too big for sync

From researching this on the Internet
(www.firewall-1.org/2002-11/msg00733.html) it appears that there might be a
interface speed problem. I ran mii-tool to see the speed of my interfaces.
I have 4 interfaces, 2 of them gave me an error since I guess the NICs do
not support mii and the other two were set for auto and were at 100 FD, I
checked the switch that I had recently replaced (which is why I think it may
be the problem) and it was set for auto as well. Is there anyway to tell
what interface this error message is refering to?

I have two questions:

1) Is this error message serious? Can I safely ignore it or is it something
I should worry about?
2) Would you suggest forcing the NICs and the switch to 100 FD instead of
auto?

Also the link I referenced suggests setting the speed and duplex using
/etc/modules.conf, I am not familiar with that does anybody have a link that
explains that in more detail.

Thanks!
