This message is in regards to Checkpoint SecurePlatform NG FP3 HF2 HFA 318 working with my Exchange 5.5 server.
Last night I configured the SMTP resource to merely strip some attachments (Action2 tab) and make sure whoever connects to the server is actually sending to my domain and not trying to relay (via the Match tab). So in the mail delivery server I put the Exchange server internal IP in and for the error handling server I left blank but checked off "Notify Sender on Error". The SMTP security section in Phoneboy's book was helpful but did not have info on "Deliver with DNS/MX records" and "Check Rule Base with new destination". This morning I got a report that an email I sent to an outside office to inform of the firewall policy change got sent to him 14 times overnight and this morning. It's like it was going in a loop. I would be very interested in seeing some good working examples of how your SMTP resource is configured. Also any relay/restriction settings under the Internet Mail Service properties in Exchange would be helpful also. Thank you all for your input.
