Hi, You can manage both 4.1 and NG with an NG management station.
You simply have to install the 4.1 backward compatibility when you install the NG management station. (the installation program asks you for this dring the install). The hardest thing is to merge the 4.1 config and objects with the NG ( I don't know any automatic method).
