We have seen the same issue with a small number of Compaq N610c laptops. To
date the issue has occurred on a small number of these systems at various
points post installation of Secure Client. We believe that the affected
systems also had multiple dial-up connections configured.

We are running NG AI R54 on Nokia with the current version of Secure Client;
all NIC drivers are Compaq latest.

If you have learnt anything more I would very much like to hear about it.

Subject: [FW-1] Disappearing Adapter on Laptops with SecureClient

I wondered if anyone had heard of this error... we're seeing a number of our
HP (formerly compaq) laptops using SecureClient (multiple versions) lose
their embedded NIC. The sequence of events to reproduce this are as
follows:

(1) Install SecureClient on the laptop (with reboots)
(2) Connect for the first time to get a policy
(3) Without disconnecting SecureClient shutdown the laptop

Upon the next boot of the laptop the embedded NIC will be missing. It
doesn't show up either in the device manager or the network neighborhood
properties section. Unfortunately if this happens to a user while they are
remote the cleanup can be difficult and time consuming. To clean up the
laptop we've had to uninstall SecureClient and reload the drivers for the
NIC then reinstall Checkpoint. Rarely there's a case where manually editing
the registry to clean out all of SecureClient is required but not as often
as reloading the drivers works.

If anyone has information pertaining to this issue please let us know.
