Licensing can cause that issue as well. If your license is a valid license or eval, then try a cprestart...make sure you're actually trying to connect to the mgmt, not the enforcement.
Just a thought, but if it's a new install, did the CA get created on mgmt? -----Original Message----- From: Mailing list for discussion of Firewall-1 [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Peter Gavagan, Jr. Sent: Tuesday, April 27, 2004 3:07 PM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: Re: [FW-1] GUI connection errors Yes, PC is defined as GUI client. -----Original Message----- From: Robert Plaenk [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Tuesday, April 27, 2004 1:40 PM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: Re: [FW-1] GUI connection errors Make sure you're PC is defined as a GUI client -----Original Message----- From: Mailing list for discussion of Firewall-1 [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Peter Gavagan, Jr. Sent: Tuesday, April 27, 2004 11:15 AM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: [FW-1] GUI connection errors Hello, I've recently set up NG FP3 in a lab environment. It's a distributed setup. Management station is a Sun Ultra 10 running Solaris 8 and the enforcement point in a Nokia IP500 series running IPSO 3.6. Installed checkpoint on the management station without any problems. When I attempt to connect to the management station with the GUI on a Windows 2000 Profession I get the following error: "connection cannot be initiated, make sure server is up and running" I can ping and telnet to the management server from the GUI PC. I also checked the Management server and it is listening on port 18190. Any ideas? ================================================= To set vacation, Out-Of-Office, or away messages, send an email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] in the BODY of the email add: set fw-1-mailinglist nomail ================================================= To unsubscribe from this mailing list, please see the instructions at http://www.checkpoint.com/services/mailing.html ================================================= If you have any questions on how to change your subscription options, email [EMAIL PROTECTED] ================================================= ================================================= To set vacation, Out-Of-Office, or away messages, send an email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] in the BODY of the email add: set fw-1-mailinglist nomail ================================================= To unsubscribe from this mailing list, please see the instructions at http://www.checkpoint.com/services/mailing.html ================================================= If you have any questions on how to change your subscription options, email [EMAIL PROTECTED] ================================================= ================================================= To set vacation, Out-Of-Office, or away messages, send an email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] in the BODY of the email add: set fw-1-mailinglist nomail ================================================= To unsubscribe from this mailing list, please see the instructions at http://www.checkpoint.com/services/mailing.html ================================================= If you have any questions on how to change your subscription options, email [EMAIL PROTECTED] ================================================= ================================================= To set vacation, Out-Of-Office, or away messages, send an email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] in the BODY of the email add: set fw-1-mailinglist nomail ================================================= To unsubscribe from this mailing list, please see the instructions at http://www.checkpoint.com/services/mailing.html ================================================= If you have any questions on how to change your subscription options, email [EMAIL PROTECTED] =================================================
