It is my understanding that in Check Point express, they have actually change the code 
a bit to count a "user" as only those machines that actually traverse the firewall for 
Internet connectivity. This would also include any servers in the DMZ that have an 
internet presence, or are needing to access resources in the LAN. You may want to 
verify this with your Check Point SE.

What I meant is what the technical differences are. At installation time, you have to 
choose whether to install vpn-1 pro or express, so I supose it's not just a license 
issue.

Also, does anybody know what is a "user"? an ip address? a user authenticated? a 
connection? ... and what does 500 users mean?
concurrent users?
