One of the things that we've used lately is the fact that all Nokia
configuration is stored in a file in /config/db, usually
/config/db/initial. In backing up the Nokia piece, we just grab that
file. The procedure we have for restore then does a standard install of
IPSO, drops in the appropriate initial file, reboots, then does CP
install and config.

Looking at that file it appears to be a flat file, although there is
some order to it. You'll note that any configuration setting you've ever
made is probably listed in that file, but the active sections seem to be
followed by the letter "t". I've just built a set of files by taking
working 380's and editing for a new gateway deployments ip's etc, but
haven't had a chance to test if this type of flat file editing will
actually work. Has anyone else tried this?

Hi,

Does anyone know if there is any issue to restore
configuration from IP380 with 8 interfaces to another
IP380 with only 4 interfaces? Is it possible to modify
the configuration file so that I can restore the
subset configuration to the new system with less
interfaces?
In addition, is it possible to restore from cluster
firewall to single node? Will upgrade_export work as
well or there is any tweak I need to make?

This is for DR practice.

Thanks.

Wayne
