Thank you very much for the help.
I have found some answers regarding my questions:
vmstat This a basic UNIX command.
fw ctl pstat depending on the switch, shows memory, disk
space, cpu usage etc.
fw tab -t connections -s counts the number of connections
currently being processed
Also, I am using "uptime" to see the CPU utilization. Although I do not know
how accurate that it since I get a different CPU usage when I go to
smartview.

1- Depends what you want to know about the connections. If you just
want to see how many connections are currently active, use this
command 'fw tab -t connections -s'. If you want to actually see them,
you can also get that output from fw tab, but you'll need a script to
make sense of it. Or just View Active in SmartTracker. But be
careful that can hurt a underpowered fw.

2- Not sure, I guess a cpstop;cpstart to restart the firewall?

3- Depends on the OS? You can also use the GUI (SmartView Status) to
see the CPU of any OS. But some operating systems also have SNMP, or
command line ways to show the CPU.
