hi,
backup & restore is the easiest way to go on ipso.
1. backup your existing nokia config
2. install new harddrive
3. install same ipso- and fw1- version that you had when you did the backup
4. restore
5. wait until restore has finished. do *not* press the save-button
6. reboot
cheers
reinhard

What version/os/platform?
If NG FP3 or above
Maybe the cpmerge utility found here:
http://www.checkpoint.com/techsupport/downloadsng/utilities.html#cpmerge
If 4.1 or below - 'fw confmerge' the objects and then import rulebases
using either fw fwm -g or fwm -g depending on platform.
