hi,
do a config backup on your old box, install the same ipso and fw1-version on the new
ip330 and restore your config there.
then you should have all of the ipso and fw1-settings on the new box again.
check that offline.
then shutdown the old box, replace it and boot the new box, it should be able to talk
to the fw1-mgmt and be the vrrp-backup again (check with "iclid" and "sh vrrp").
cheers
reinhard

Betreff: [FW-1] Replace a NG FP3 IP330 installation
Hey all, I'm new to the list.
I am responsible for my company's firewalls, but all of them was already
in place before I started in this job. Administering them is no problem,
but now I have to make a reinstallation on a new firewall. The secondary
FW in a HA cluster is experiencing hardware errors (according to Nokia;
it shows a db> prompt on the console after it stops working) and I got a
new IP330 box from Nokia and will RMA the old one.
I've "downgraded" IPSO and from AI to NG FP3 to make it identical to the
IP330 I'm replacing, but I cannot find any documents which describes the
steps I need to make in order to replace it. I've downloaded various
getting started and administration guides, but these say absolutely
nothing about how to progress when replacing an existing firewall, so
where can I find the documents and information I need?
The old box is still up and running so before switching them I need to
unplug the NIC used for the HA sync and install it in the new IP330.
Will this be of any problems as in "oh sorry mate, you should have that
NIC installed before you ran cpconfig for the first time!"?
All input greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Stig Bull
