It took forever to come up to the banner for me when telnetting to it on port 25.
http://www.dnsreport.com/tools/dnsreport.ch?domain=engro.com reports that you do not have a reverse DNS entry (PTR record) set up. This is bad news for a mail server. It also reports your 202.163.96.4 DNS server is not responding. FWIW, Ray

Date: Wed, 25 May 2005 11:30:53 +0500 Dear ALL, We are using Check Point firewall gateway alongwith its VPN module, there are about more than 600 mail users. I used to receive all internet bound emails on firewall (which acts as smart host) and later firewall sends it to my mail server which is resided inside the internal lan (over private IP). Now a days we are having a problem with my check point firewall server SMTP services, there is a delay of about 30-35 sec before establishing a connection on port 25. MX record entry for "pop3khi,engro.com" mail server is mapped on firewall's real IP address (i.e. 202.163.105.245), for last few days my firewall does not respond well over internet on port 25, it is taking longer time to respond against SMTP connection than normal and as a result internet bound incoming mails queued up either on our back up server placed in a local ISP or bounced back to the sender. Would appreciate if any of you could please advise some solution to get this issue resolved. Thanks in advance for your support, Regards, Syed Abdul Hameed Systems Analyst Engro Chemical Pakistan Limited Ph# 5611060-9 Ext: 626 Mobile # 0300-9265980 ================================================= To set vacation, Out-Of-Office, or away messages, send an email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] in the BODY of the email add: set fw-1-mailinglist nomail ================================================= To unsubscribe from this mailing list, please see the instructions at http://www.checkpoint.com/services/mailing.html ================================================= If you have any questions on how to change your subscription options, email [EMAIL PROTECTED] =================================================
