And budget, don't forget budget! -----Original Message----- From: Mailing list for discussion of Firewall-1 [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Ray Sent: Monday, August 01, 2005 8:40 AM To: [email protected] Subject: Re: [FW-1] FireWall-1 vs. other web application firewall products
Check Point is a proven product with a long history, which is why almost all major corporations use it. Dedicated web application firewalls are significantly slower. The normal usage is to have a web application firewall, if you decide you need one, behind a stateful firewall so the web firewall is only handling web traffic. I can tell you that SmartDefense's Web Intelligence stops a lot of stuff and will only get better. So the answer, once again, is that it depends on your particular needs. :-) Ray >From: Emily Conrad <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> >Reply-To: Mailing list for discussion of Firewall-1 ><[email protected]> >To: [email protected] >Subject: [FW-1] FireWall-1 vs. other web application firewall products >Date: Mon, 1 Aug 2005 03:07:11 +0000 > >Hello, > >Does anyone know how Check Point FW-1 compares to dedicated web application >firewalls? > >There are a lot of web application firewall vendors out there, some seem to >be head and shoulders above what Check Point can do now. > >Any comments? > >Thanks, > >Emily > >_________________________________________________________________ >FREE pop-up blocking with the new MSN Toolbar - get it now! >http://toolbar.msn.click-url.com/go/onm00200415ave/direct/01/ > >================================================= >To set vacation, Out-Of-Office, or away messages, >send an email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] >in the BODY of the email add: >set fw-1-mailinglist nomail >================================================= >To unsubscribe from this mailing list, >please see the instructions at >http://www.checkpoint.com/services/mailing.html >================================================= >If you have any questions on how to change your >subscription options, email >[EMAIL PROTECTED] >================================================= ================================================= To set vacation, Out-Of-Office, or away messages, send an email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] in the BODY of the email add: set fw-1-mailinglist nomail ================================================= To unsubscribe from this mailing list, please see the instructions at http://www.checkpoint.com/services/mailing.html ================================================= If you have any questions on how to change your subscription options, email [EMAIL PROTECTED] ================================================= ================================================= To set vacation, Out-Of-Office, or away messages, send an email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] in the BODY of the email add: set fw-1-mailinglist nomail ================================================= To unsubscribe from this mailing list, please see the instructions at http://www.checkpoint.com/services/mailing.html ================================================= If you have any questions on how to change your subscription options, email [EMAIL PROTECTED] =================================================
