I realize this is a bit off topic, but I was wanting to query the
community about software that they use to accept firewall rule change
requests and track them to completion.
We use something that was developed in house 3+ years ago, and it just
doesn't do as much as we would like, and the person who developed it has
moved on. It accepts rule requests from users who must authenticate,
and tracks firewall engineer approvals and notes, and finally
implementation of the rule, and lets user know its complete. I'm
thinking there must be something someone is using out there that enables
one to insert some of the business/policy logic for what's allowed to be
requested in general, essentially helping us separate wheat from chaff.
