I've always done this in the file /etc/rc.local, and never experienced this
problem.

# Hardcode Interfaces
mii-tool -F 100baseTx-FD eth0
mii-tool -F 100baseTx-FD eth1
mii-tool -F 100baseTx-FD eth2

Depending on the interface, you may need to use ethtool instead of mii-tool.
Some experimentation would be needed. Hope this helps.

Subject: [FW-1] SecurePlatform interfaces disappearing after applying Full
duplex & speed options in modules.conf

Hi folks,

I have previously built SPLAT boxes running R55W and forced the interface
duplex to 100mb/s, as with this example on a DL380G4:

options e1000.4.6.11 Duplex=2,2,2,2 Speed=100,100,100,100 options bcm5700
line_speed=100,100 full_duplex=1,1 auto_speed=0,0

However, I just tried the same thing on an identically configured DL380
running R55 (*not* R55W), and all the interfaces disappeared
when it rebooted! I had to remove these lines from modules.conf to
get the interfaces back again.

Has anyone seen this before? Does it even make sense? I sure don't think
so.

Ed Luck
