One of the companies that I worked for used this exact setup ... the NICs we put in were two Intel quad-port copper gigabit for a total of ten ports when combined with the two onboard ports.
We never had any issues with this setup. The Checkpoint release was the R55 variant. -----Original Message----- From: Mailing list for discussion of Firewall-1 [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Garner, Annette K **BETH Sent: Wednesday, August 23, 2006 1:19 PM To: [email protected] Subject: [FW-1] DUAL NICS - DL380 G4 I am currently in the process of ordering 2 HP DL380 G4's to replace 2 Nokia 330's running NG AI R55. Can anyone tell me what nics they are ordering, using, etc with this Intel platform. I contacted tech support and all I get back from them if it is not on the list we don't support it and to keep my receipt. All they have listed for them is the integrated nic and a Note regarding the on-board Broadcom NIC is known to cause some problems in this model with a dual CPU setup. I was going to order NC7170 DP PCI-X 1000T Gig ALL, can anyone tell me if they are using this type and if so did they have any issues with it. I need 6 interfaces for these firewalls. Thanks for all your help.
