The question here was/is not that there is no business sense/technical
sense in upgrading to 4.1 but the context was 'why upgrade IPSO to 4.1
just to run FP3, is it not? I agree there is otherwise a sense to
upgrade to 4.1 but then I would exploit its potentialities fully post
NGX.

Yes there is,
IP560 hardware is only supported under IPSO 4.1, a pricewise this is an
excellent platform.
However if your smartcenter is FP3 you are stuck
