Hi all, Since the discussion goes about subscriptions and support, I have to add that the total amount paid for subscription is important, and I have brought the issue in article I have published on 19 October:
" In the following lines you will see that 45-50% of its revenue are coming from subscriptions." The rest of this information can be found http://www.tla.ch/TLA/FW/FAQ/2006-10-19-checkpoint-q3-revenue.htm This is just a fact that could be brought into consideration in this discussion. Bye for now, Christian ALT Telecom and Logistics Associates Network Security Company Security Lead Auditor for ISO 27001 http://www.tla.ch Agenda Romand de la formation IT et Securité http://www.tla.ch/agenda.htm -----Original Message----- From: Mailing list for discussion of Firewall-1 [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Ronny Vaningh Sent: dimanche, 5. novembre 2006 11:05 To: [email protected] Subject: Re: [FW-1] checkpoint knowledge base sk31876 explaination needed Hugo, Martin et al Indeed I must agree that complaining about bad support isn't really appropriate, but the only thing I wanted to point out here is that checkpoint frequently publishes: 1) incomplete release notes, by not including all fixed problems in the release notes; 2) cryptic SK articles ... about "can crash in certain circumstances" If we pay for support, like we all do since we choose to marry a closed source vendor, I would like to receive clear and honest SK articles in return so that I can assess if my environment would be impacted before upgrading to a release instead of opening cases afterwards. Opening cases is neither in my interest neither in checkpoints (since there is no more a per case fee to be paid). And now I will leave this subject to rest ... Have a nice continuation of your weekend Ronny Hugo van der Kooij wrote: > Not knowing your setup nor the actual case I can not judge wether or not a > given support solution is appropriate.
