Yes, prior to the import, I can pull the gui to the linux box just fine (15
days eval
license). After the import, when I run cpconfig, I do not even see the
standard
  cpconfig, really strange.

Sergio, when I tried to add the license via "cpconfig" even prior to the
"import",
it will NOT even let me add the license string "invalid license" even though
the
IP address in the license file matches the IP address of the Linux box.

This is a really weird situation. It works on all platforms but Linux. Must
be a bug
  or something to that effect.

seen the upgrade license which I skip too but then I have no problem
using the eval lic to connect. I have not been able to determine why I
see this for some imports but not all. Most imports I do are on a win2k
system for testing. Odd that other platforms work but not Linux, makes
me think there is an interface/IP issue, or bug.

Subject: [FW-1] upgrade_export and upgrade_import issue

I built a fresh install of NGx R61 on SPLAT and configure
it as a SmartCenter and Evential Reporter add-on. After
that, I applied the license and everything is good. I then
apply HFA_01 on this box, reboot and everything is still
good. Finally I performed "upgrade_export" on this box and
transferred to my ftp server and removed this smartcenter
from the network.

I then install a fresh RedHat Linux ES 3 on another machine
having the same name as the SmartCenter/eventia reporter addon
above. I then install NGx R61 with the same option as above.
I then install HFA_01 and then reboot the box. Then I
downloaded the import file from the ftp server to this linux
box. Next, I performed "upgrade_import" and at the end, it asks
me if I want to upgrade the license file. I thought it is kinda
strange so I refused. Well, I can not log into the SmartCenter.

To confirm that my export file is good, I removed the Redhat
Linux ES 3 from the network and bring up my Solaris 9 box using
the same name as the SmartCenter NGx R61 splat box. I installed
NGxR61 with HFA_01 on the solaris box. I then performed
"upgrade_import" and it works on Solaris box without issues.

I then tried again on a Nokia IP380 installing IPSO 4.1 build 19
with Checkpoint NGx R61 and HFA_01. I configured the nokia as
SmartCenter only and performed an "upgrade_import" and it works
there too.

In summary, upgrade_import seems to have an issue from SPLAT to
Redhat Linux ES 3 especially with the licensing issue. I am
trying to findout why.

Wondering if someone has run into this issue before? Thanks.
