I have not had the pleasure to perfom an NGX upgrade on fash based IP boxes
(will have to do it soon, though), but checking the R62_UpgradeGuide.pdf
available at the CP website, I see no instructions saying separate packages
need to be installed for R62.

In fact the upgrade procedure for IPSO basically gives a single set of steps
for any IPSO platform (3.9, 4.0) and only makes reference to flash based
models with the following note, when making reference of uploading the
installation package to the box:

"On flash-based platforms, Nokia recommends creating a directory under /var
and downloading the wrapper package to it. This directory is deleted when
the upgrade
is complete and the system is rebooting, ensuring that the installation
package
does not consume flash memory."

On which manual did you find instructions saying separate packages need to
be installed? I would like to be completely informed on all this before I
have to deal with it.

Regards

Hi

I want to install R62 on an IP560 but according to the manual I need to
use the separate packages instead of the comprehensive wrapper on flash
based platforms.

However there are no separate packages on the checkpoint site as there
are for R61.

Anyone already running R62 (on flash based ) ?

Thanks

Ronny
