That means I have to create some 6000 host objects on the SmartCenter 
Server (I can't use network objects instead due to my customer; well I 
still hope I can convince him to simplify things). What problems would 
that probably cause?

By the way, firewall version is R65. SmartCenter Server runs on SPLAT. 
Capacity of harddiscs 60 GB. CPU: dual Xeon 1.6 GHz, RAM: 2 GB.

I hope you got the CPU power to deal with that. In Check Point ranges
are real resource consumers. The rules are in fact written for the
individual addresses.

Just for fun. Define a Class B like address range and use it in your NAT
rules in both source and destination.

You should have time to pick your own coffee beans, process them and
make your coffee while yo do a policy install.
