are your machine in multicast mode?. The multicast mode on switches without multicast support causes a packet storm, because the multicast packet going to go out of all interfases on the same vlan and then are seen by all routers and machines, then if a packet is seen by a router o another machine with routing enabled, then the packet going to be routed and send it again to the switch, and this proccess is repeated because this routed packet has a multicast MAC address, an so until TTL expires.
The work arround to this issue is change your switch to another with multicast support or change Checkpoint mode to Unicast. Regards.
