Well Hugo, that's technically correct. You can in fact pay for a single
SmartDefense subscription and get it updated and used for all your devices,
it works perfect that way, but in terms of Check Point licensing, that's not
how it is supposed to be.

The way it works is you should pay for a subscription for each device on
which you wish to take advantage of SmartDefense protections and updates.
Also the subscriptions' cost will depend on the "size" of your gateway, that
way a subscription for an unlimited Power gateway will be more expensive
than a subscription for a limited UTM license for 25, 50, 100, etc. users.
The deal is Check Point haven't found a way (or haven't develop one) to
enforce this.

I guess it actually depends on the Check Point Partner that sells you the
products, one might give you a quote including an SD subscription for each
gateway you have, another might quote just one, no matter how many gateways
you have, because they know it will work.
